TGIF!

I don't normally pull a Mr. Fab and publish 1-10 posts a day (just kiddin', Brad :) but THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW. I just have to show you the difference from Wednesday's photo in this morning's post (stay with me) and these that I just took from this afternoon's walk. Same walk. Different day.

This is the exact same spot as the photo I posted this morning but looking the opposite way. Okay, so it's just the beginning of a patch of blue.

Around the bend, past the half-way house and now passing the horse pastures. OMG. The sun was shining in all his glory because he, too, was glad it was Friday.

By the time I was nearing the apartment, I was so warmed up I had to take off my gloves AND my scarf AND my earmuffs AND unzip my jacket.

Just shows to go-ya that gray, frigidly cold days really CAN and DO turn into gloriously sunshiny, blue and more springlike days. Now if only our emotions and souls could remember that, right?

Anyway, TGIF!

  1. It really was pretty today, wasn't it? On Thursday when I was out it was puking snow and today it was gorgeous sunshine and warm enough that I didn't have to get all bundled up.

  2. I went for a walk to the grocery store in the afternoon and it was lovely. A couple of rain drops and then it stopped and the sun came out. There's still hope! :-)

  3. Hello!! I had no idea it got that cold in Atlanta! Thanks for opening my eyes.

It's really cold in the Bay Area. You may think...yea, california girl, what do you think is really cold? ;) well, there's snow on our mountains and it might even snow on the flat lands tomorrow. It's not, like, frigid or anything, but it is freezing!

Thanks so much for the nice note you left on my blog. You'll definitely see me around here, too. :) I love what you wrote in your About Me. I recently did a mixed media piece called "be fierce". :) And keep entering those photo challenges!

Glad that your friday let you take off your gloves instead of scrunching them all together inside your gloves.

    Cheers!

  4. Dixie: I'm guessing Magdeburg, an hour east of Hannover, would get about the same weather. So glad to hear it.

Christina: After my walk, we had a few sprinkles and then the sun popped out again. Yes, there's always hope!

MP: And thanks to you, too!

Madretz: Thanks for stopping by. I really do like your blog!

But NO, it's NOT that cold in Atlanta. In fact, it was in the 70's there yesterday! I live in Atlanta most of the time but am in Hannover, Germany, almost every month for 2 weeks or so. I'll be back in Atlanta on the 18th. I'm sure it gets very confusing for everyone. That's one of the reasons I have the Atlanta AND Hannover clocks and temps on my sidebar :)

  7. Lisa: I agree about that tree! I couldn't believe it when I saw it. We went to nearby Hildesheim yesterday and it snowed the entire day. Couldn't believe that either. (Thanks for stopping by...again :)

Tim: You, too, can find great nature pics where you are. I love it.

DW: Oh no! I forgot about the opposite weather for you there in NZ. Will you get snow where you are? (Or were you the one who once said you hadn't seen it?) I assume this means you're computer is up and running again! Yaaaaay!

  8. We had snow and rain and a mix of both, but as my mom used to tell me: "Après la pluie, le beau temps." (After the rain, beautiful weather will follow) Or: Good times will follow rough times. Or simply: There's always hope.

  9. we had sun too! It was beautiful and I so thought of you. I tried to take a pic of some newly showing flowers but my small camera just doesn't do the job. A killer day and looks liike today will follow suit!

  10. CS: Oh yes--always hope. I like that. (It sounds so beautiful in French :)

Expat: Sun again today but colder (28 degrees F) than yesterday, when we had snow all day. At least I got my snow :)

  11. Ginnie, you are great! The way you did that post and the final conclusion is very soulful! Yes, our souls should remember that! Thanks, Ginnie! :O)))

  13. I love the photos and the sentiment. Friday I needed to remember that sunshine comes after the rain, and I do feel better today!

  14. Awwwww, Ruth. I wish I had known about your Friday. I would have called you, even from Hannover!

  15. I have seen snow, but not only after driving many miles especially for experience. This was back in South Africa. I have never seen snow fall.

I got my computer back late on Friday night *Grinning happily*

  16. Ahhhh, DW--you've never seen it fall. The falling of it is maybe the best part because it makes the world seen so fairylandish. It snowed ALL DAY on Saturday while we visited in nearby Hildesheim (soon-to-come post). I would have loved to experience it with you!

I KNOW you're grinning happily over your computer. How did we ever live without them!

    You're on mine, too.
