Some R&R Time

It's that time again when we will get away and sail the seas. Just what the doctor ordered for Donica in particular who is soooo ready for some R&R. I told her we may need to take a cruise every year to force her to get away and not be able to leave!

Photo taken in a cafe across from the Westerkerk when Amy & Angie were here on 10/10.

We leave Amsterdam this afternoon and fly to Barcelona, Spain, where our ship departs tomorrow evening. We'll meet up with a Shutterchance blogger tonight (José Angel Sáez-Díez) and then tomorrow will have time to sight-see a bit before we go to the ship.

Here's the Royal Caribbean route of our 12-night cruise.

After last year's cruise to Scandinavia, I promised both Donica and me that I would NOT ever again do the daily posting I did then! The Internet at sea is very slow (if at all) and expensive. So for both of my blogs, I really am taking a rest and will see you all once I get back to Atlanta on November 7th.

Don't forget about me! You can be sure I won't forget about you, even though I may not visit your sites. You're in my heart and that's what matters. I'll have a lot of catching up to do when I return. But for now.....Ciao!

  2. Both of you - relax and enjoy a well deserved vacation. We'll miss you but have great anticipation for your return and all the wonders you will share with us! Be sure to visit the casino in Monte Carlo if you can get there. As I wished Amy and Angie - HAVE A BLAST! - a realxing one that is.

  3. Ruth: You can imagine how very excited we both are. Because we've been on 3 cruises together before, we know what to look forward to and what to expect. Just what the doctor ordered. I LOVE all the happiness you've sent. Thank you! :)

Judy: Donica says we go to Nice, Eze and Monaco/Monte Carlo. I'll see how close we get! We'll have an hour's free time and maybe I'll be outside taking pics while Donica is inside doing her thing! :) We definitely plan to have a blast! Thanks for all your good wishes.

  4. Bon voyage, and I know you'll both have the biggest blast possible! I hope the ship's crew are prepared for your arrival!!
I'll be away on a break at the same time, we have rented a cottage by the Atlantic Ocean in Florida for a month, so, even though we have a laptop with us, postings may be few and far between until the end of November.
    See you then!

  17. I have not forget you; in fact, I've been so busy in the past I thought most people had forgotten me....

Hope the cruise was up to the expetations.

I'm leaving for Miami Thursday at 4 am. Just for a couple of days - withy my daughter, who will stay there longer - but we will see her again in Buenos Aires first week of December.

  19. Ex-S: We really were both gone at the same time. I hope your time in Florida was every bit as great as our time on the cruise!

RK: I think we did exactly that! Maybe that's why we ended up so tired. Too many things to do and see. :)

Moi: Tons of pics I have and you will start seeing them here and on SC! Be forewarned!

Mad: It's a great cruise. I highly recommend it!

    Susan: It was!

CS: It was fantastic! But now we both need a vacation! :)

L&N: The blogging has just begun. :)

ET: The photos are coming. It was such a great trip. I hope you and P can have your own trip soon!

Renny: One day I do believe we WILL meet in person. I can hardly wait.

RRD: One day, by hook or by crook, we shall meet! When will you be in Amsterdam next, I wonder?

Neva: We both feel very fortunate and so thankful for all the experiences we have!

RK: We had to buy masquerade masks in Venice for Halloween on the ship. How fun was that!

JoAnn: No, no chance to blog with such a slow and expensive Internet (the cheapest was $.33/minute). Bad news. So I knew that ahead of time and committed to no blogging. But I was tempted. :)

Tim: We both feel totally blessed. We are!

Tor: So sorry you had quite the time getting through customs. I hope the rest of your time has totally made up for it!

    ET: I'm back! :)

Christina: Safe and sound...and catching up on too many other things to start on my photos yet. Did lots of sorting on the ship (since I didn't need the Internet for that!).

Texel Island, NL, 2024: Renovations

To be honest, I thought I had already posted about our January trip to start some renovations in Jaap's bungalow, as a gift from Astri...
