This koala from my last post was SOOOOOO cute, I just have to show you some more of her. HER, you say? How do I know she's a she? She's a she because I named her Sophia on the spot, after asking Sophia to please help me find a koala, if there was indeed one to be found. So when I found it, she was Sophia to me.
This was my first view of her! Lucky me, the tree was not overhanging the cliffs down to the ocean. That meant I could actually walk around the tree to face her. Which I did!
But in walking around the tree, through the crunchy brush, I awakened her. Don't you love the tongue she's sticking out at me!
I didn't notice till looking at the pictures that she was perched on just this stub of a branch. How uncomfortable was that?
But when did she move to this new perch??? I never saw her do it, so I don't have a clue. In my defense, a couple of people passed by on the trail and I whistled them over, pointing to Sophia (almost everyone hopes to see a koala in this neck of the woods). In that commotion, I think she moved from one spot to another. What a sneak.
How can you NOT just eat her up! Omigod!
And YES, we are now safe-n-sound back in Amsterdam, our home away from home!

Ontzettend gave foto's, these are unique fabulous pictures, Sophia just showed the best side of her, be a patient beautiful koala and just relaxed during the numerous amount of pictures you took, this is like a movie, priceless and a treasure to keep.

My very first most dearest stuffed animal was a koala bear so since I was 4 or 5 years old, they have held special place in my heart. I still remember the first time I saw them in a zoo and they are just so cuddly cute and adorable. I love these photos of Sophia. She is a star!
ReplyDeleteAll I could think of looking at those pictures was that some of those perches did not look very comfortable. I am so glad I am not a koala bear!

ReplyDeleteLove the photos from the eastern side of Australia..love the Gold Coast shoreline, I fell in love with it when we were there..we're going to an island off Brisbane on saturday..for a week's holiday..Tangalooma Island, in the Moreton Bay Islands, so I'll have some photos of the trip on my blog when I get back.
Mad: Years ago when the kids were small, their uncle brought them a stuffed koala from Australia and we all loved it to death, so I know! A star indeed.

How precious she is! I love koala bears. What a gift to be able to see a real koala AND have the wonderful photos to remember her by. She made a wonderful model - just look at her little face.
