God Bless the Children

By now I have finished 3 of my 5 Christmas albums between Georgia and Michigan! The "important" ones, with all of the kids, are done. And while working on them, I couldn't help but be all philosophical about them!

How can we NOT be mindful of our children! They are our future. They are the ones we need to teach...to be all they're meant to be and NOT like the rest of the world.

Here's the batch from my side of the family in Michigan (NOT the ones of Nicholas here in Georgia, yet!! That's another album on its own, of course!!)...the wee ones from my niece and nephews (in no particular order):

Greta and Audrey

How, pray tell, can we not teach them well? You tell me!

Donica left for Europe this past Sunday and is in the snowcapped Switzerland mountains, as we speak, on a team-building trip. I fly to Amsterdam tomorrow, arriving on Friday morning. Donica will join me on Saturday for the rest of the month.

HAPPY NEW YEAR again!

  1. It's wonderful to see the little one's getting on so well together in creating and playing. It just makes you want to smile at their innocence, not a care in the world.
You have captured this beautifully Ginnie.
    Safe flight back to AMS.
    SEE YOU SOON!!HA

  3. What a heritage to take care of. That's important. But what I've seen and read from your blog, all your family are aware of that responsability.

btw. wish we had the chance to meet you in Am'dam, but this winter it seems impossible. alas.

  4. These are such beautiful portraits, Ginnie! I hope you have sent them on to the appropriate parents. Anyone would be proud to have those in their collection.

  7. Lurch: The cousins just love getting together at the cottage! My kids remember when they were this age and did the same. And YES. SOON you will be here with us in AMS. I can hardly wait.

Astrid: And YOU, TOO. We will have such a hoot together once Tracy comes...and Scarlet, too. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend on Texel!

Tor: Yes, you know about heritage! It's a big responsibility and privilege for us all. Maybe 2008 will be our year to meet! We can always hope! :)

Karen: Your words are very kind! I sent the albums to the families, so they can do with them as they wish.

Ex-S: You just wait. You won't know what hit you! Have you seen the bumper sticker: "If I had known being a grandparent would be so fun, I would have done it first?"

Renny: The children really are our future, aren't they! Thanks for your welcome back and, YES, I'll give Donica a hug from you. :)

  8. Each one is beautiful, so sweet. I especially love Audrey looking through the glass, Aden playing with the remote, Greta's profile and Lydia's play-dough smile. Wonderful.
