MARYLAND Stuns DUKE

Winslow Townson/AP

Any team that can come from a 13-point deficit in the second half to win its first N.C.A.A. women's basketball championship, a 78-75 overtime victory against Duke, deserves to whoop it up!

And to think we went to bed last night at halftime and missed the entire comeback! What were we thinking!

Thus ends March Madness!

  3. ET: HA. I didn't even think of that. It should be Merryland! Well, it is, regardless of how it's spelled :)

KPK: Yeah--too bad the shot's not mine :)

  6. Donica: You're right. We were tired! It was way past our bedtime :)

Lisa: That's exactly our sentiment! But it was as close as a 3-point basket, which I'm guessing really stung them HARD!

Mr. Fab: Again, exactly how we felt!

Christina: I think you've got the picture by now--anyone but Duke :)

  7. Just like when Dad took me to a Tigers Baseball game and we decided to leave before the last inning- they were behind by a couple of points and figured they'd never catch up the way they were playing. So we stopped off at a little bar down the ways from the stadium, and watched the Grand Slam victory on TV- boo hoo!!!

  8. Rachel, when those things happen you want to kick yourself--just like we did. Except that it really was late and Donica had to go to work early the next day. So what are you supposed to do!
