Watercolor Sunday and Saturday's Color: December 2015

It's a new-brand year by now but there's one last month of the old year to capture from Facebook posts:

December 6 (photo manipulation):
“Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies!”
― Francis Pharcellus Church

[As a btw, F.P. Church was the one who coined the phrase "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus"
in a 1897 editorial of The (New York) Sun, in response to a question by 8-yr-old Virginia O'Hanlon.]

December 13 (photo manipulation):
“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.”
― Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

December 20 (photo manipulation):
“I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
and wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1863)

December 27 (photo manipulation):
"And this shall be a sign unto you: You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." ― Luke 2:12

These are my coloring posts on Facebook for December:

(finished on 19 August 2003, posted on FB 5 December 2015)
Isn't tomorrow..."six geese a-laying?" Well, then. (Another Celt mandala.)

(finished on 26 July 2003, posted on FB 12 December 2015)
Not exactly Rudolph but maybe a distant cousin??? (Another Celt mandala.)

(finished on 19 November 2015, posted on FB 19 December 2015)
I saw caliph headwear when I finished this design, a month ago, and thought of our Muslim friends all over the world right now who are suffering. A caliphate is a form of Islamic government led by a caliph, a political and religious successor to the Islamic prophet, Muhammad, and a leader of the entire Muslim community. In the spirit of “Peace on earth, Good will to Men,” couldn't we all find ways to reach out to each other, no matter who we are or what we believe???

For this "holy holiday" weekend, I choose this design from my Celtic Stained Glass Coloring Book, printed on translucent paper. You can actually hang it in your window as a see-through. Today is the 2nd Christmas Day in the Netherlands, so Merry Christmas yet again.

And now, once again, HAPPY NEW YEAR.
And Happy January.

    1. I 'spect this blog will always be a better record of my posts than FB, Astrid, so I'm glad the thought came to me to start leaving a record here. THANK YOU for your support all along the way!

  3. I love the first image especially - Santas bickering on a street corner?

Have you looked into a pressure sensitive pen for your computer? It’s a wonderful device and not very expensive.

    1. I think those Santas were agreeing on territory rights for that particular day, Ted. HA! Or maybe the one was getting off shift and going shopping? :)

But no, I haven't looked into a pressure sensitive pen. I'm not sure I'm a drawer, which is probably why I've never pursued it. I can color...but not draw?!
