We're back from our 3 weeks in America...Astrid's and my longest vacation together to date! More on that later but while we were gone, another month of Saturdays and Sundays just passed us by.
So, here are my Watercolor Sunday posts on Facebook for October, 2017:
October 1 (photo manipulation):
"Give me juicy autumnal fruit, ripe and red from the orchard."
--Walt Whitman
October 8 (photo manipulation):
"Autumn is the mellower season, and what we lose in flowers
we more than gain in fruits." Samuel Butler
October 15 (photo manipulation):
"Life is like a Ferris wheel. One minute you're on top, the next you're at the bottom.
Just stay in your seat, enjoy the ride, and hang on until you reach the top again."
--Susan Gale
October 22 (photo manipulation):
"We come spinning out of nothingness, scattering stars like dust."
--Rumi
October 29 (photo manipulation):
"No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace as I have seen in one autumnal face."
--John Donne

My Saturday's Color posts on Facebook for October 2017:
(finished on 4 October 2017, posted on FB 7 October 2017)
In case I need to explain this (!!), today is the Michigan (my alma mater) vs. Michigan State 110th
football game since the state rivalry began in 1898 (119 years ago!).
In honor of that tradition today, between the Maize and Blue and the Green and White,
this Techellations design is for all of my family and friends who are on the "other side."
Did you notice all the "bridges" I colored to connect us?!
Hopefully the game will not spin out of control...and may the best team win. GO BLUE!
[Do I dare mention that U of M won the first game, 36 - 0. Of the 109 games already played,
it's been 69 (W)-35 (L)-5 (T). Just saying.]
[Addendum: I hate to say that Michigan LOST, 10-14. BooHoo.]

There are still gorgeous flowers left to admire during these autumn days, even here in CT.

How can you NOT love this time of the year in autumn. HA! GO BLUE!

It's a rainy day here in the North GA Mountains, so we're bringing the sunshine inside!

Guess what!
I have now finished two complete years of every Saturday and Sunday with these coloring
and watercolor posts. Let's see if I can continue for another year...or two..okay?!
I'm game if you are. :)
Hi Ginnie. My preferred is 5 because I adore the autumn. Good evening!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to that, Marie! Merci.
DeleteThe yellow and red flower is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteYay for being back home safe and sound after such a marvelous trip (minus the illness of course!)!
I really felt I turned the corner on my cough, Ruth, but the travelling reactivated it, it seems. So, one more try at trying to get rid of it. Hopefully everything will settle down soon. THANKS.
DeleteI would say at least another year and maybe two... it gives you so much joy and a few of the watercolours represent Autumn.... love it. As for the football match I almost wrote the Michigan coach to ask what is going on, every time you are watching them on USA-TV they dare to loose... ;)... as for vacation, those 3 weeks went by to fast.... still a few days left HA.
ReplyDeleteI love these posts. It is amazing how much variety there is. IHVJ and yes we had a great vacation.
You are always my biggest fan, of course, because you're the one who watches me do it all. Thank you for sharing my joy! Starting another year....
DeleteAll are great. My favourite is the autumn one.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
I love that you have a favorite, Marie, though I don't ever expect anyone to pick. Thanks for following the fun. :)
Deleteyour water colours inspired me today, paired with the lovely quotes :) i used to run my photoblog that way YEARS AND YEARS ago... with quotes and poems under the pictures... until somebody harshed my gig, saying if i didn't write the quotes or poems, that i shouldn't publish them... and no it wasn't YOU lol i didn't know you yet lol lovely pictures, thank you... and thanks for coming home :D
ReplyDeleteThere's no reason to NOT share quotes when you credit the author, Elaine, right? In fact, it's the kind of inspiration I often thrive on! It's GOOD to be back home, even though I still feel like I'm catching up.
DeleteI admire someone who's not afraid of colors! I love all your color combinations.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of you, Maria! I really AM trying to mix it up, just so no one gets bored. HA!
DeleteOh, Ginnie...that third one..."Life is like a Ferris wheel" is my absolute favorite! Just AMAZING!!!
ReplyDeleteKnowing what you've been going through these last years and months, Robin, I totally understand why that is your favorite this time around. Hang in there and know that you are loved!
