Collecting FARM

In a couple hours, I'll be one my way to the airport for my first trip to Hannover since June! I can hardly stand it, I'm so excited. I've missed her. But before I leave, here's some Farm to leave with you.

This tractor has been chained to this telephone pole along the road on the way to Amy's house for who knows how long. So the other day I stopped by on a cloudy, about-to-rain day to get up close and personal.

I ask you: Would YOU buy this pile of sh junk? I wish now that I had taken close-ups of certain parts that were held together by screwdrivers and pop cans. I also want to find out how much they want for it and if in fact it runs! There is a battery, I see.

I'm guessing this has a LOT of history to it and is a piece of art to someone. Hmmm. Maybe some farm somewhere...some yard?...would want it for the ambiance. Hmmm. I wonder how we could transport it to our own back yard and if we could negotiate the price for that!

A bit of Farm Ambiance never hurt anyone, right?! Or yet another collection?

  1. Maybe it's an 'object d'art' and the sign is just part of it. :)

  3. Anther collection, I suppose. Heheee :-) I wouldn't/couldn't buy it because it simply wouldn't even fit into our little Swiss back yard! ;-)

Have a safe trip and read you in our time zone again ;-)

    Bon voyage!

  5. Somehow I don't think this tractor fits in with any of our collections! Besides...we are out of space as it is! See you tomorrow in Germany!

  6. I love it. It's art for sure and I think that tractor would look fabulous in your driveway! Who says a collection has to be inside? :-)

  7. I love that tractor :) It is definitely the kind of subject I would love to paint.

    Have a safe flight!

  8. You say it's chained to the pole- did they think someone would steal it?

  9. IT'S GONE! When I went by on Saturday to take more pics, it wasn't there. Did someone actually buy it???

Jeff: I bet you're right--it all was just a trick!

ET: We've gotta find fun wherever we can find it :) And I DO hope you're getting rain, since the Island needs it!

CS: Can you imagine that sitting in someone's living room! HA. Yes, I'm now back in YOUR time zone. Hurray.

Ruth: I'm quite sure it's older than Don's! If not, it's been a sun-worshipper for way too long.

Donica: Aren't you glad it's now nowhere to be found! No more temptation :)

Christina: Actually, there's a little space alongside of the driveway in the woods that would have been perfect!

DW: And would you paint it like one of those '70s VW peace vans? :)

    Rachel: HAHAHA! That's good.

Deb: I bet. And the kids would love it to play on!

  10. Ah, ginnie. I think that tractor has lots of sentimental and aesthetic value. It's beautiful.

  11. I find it's a GREAT machine and you took super shots. Why not buying it for Nicholas? I'm pretty sure he would love the "junk" :-))

  12. Ha, KPK. I never once thought of Nicholas but you're right. He'd love it. Too bad I didn't jump on it while I had the chance because, as I said, it's now GONE :( I'd love to know who bought it and for how much!
