If you want to see a great movie, I recommend The Illusionist, starring Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti and Jessica Biel. If you like romance, politics and magic, you'll like the movie.
Donica and I were at her mom's in south Atlanta on Saturday, before attending a cousin's birthday party. Her butterfly bush out front really does attract butterflies, BTW (!), so I was able to get a few pics. Is this particular butterfly mid-air before landing on the bush? Or is it an illusion (click image to enlarge)? Are the butterflies in the movie (which we saw today) an illusion?
And that's all I'll say about that!
Except for saying IT'S GOOD! Go see it if you can.

Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big Edward Norton fan, I think he is an amazing actor, so I will definitely be seeing that movie.
Re: the butterfly - can't tell. I think he's anchored to the bloom I can just see under the edge of his wing but it could be his tiny feet haven't gripped it yet.
ReplyDeleteNow why do I have the feeling I've missed the point of this post entirely?
That swallowtail really does look like it was superimposed on this photo! Nice shot. I took pics of a butterfly yesterday too and may post one later. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the movie recommendation. We'll check it out!
DW: I love Edward Norton as well. One of his best movies, I think, was Primal Fear with Richard Gere. Let me know if/when you see this one.
ReplyDeleteLisa: Well, I'm not sure there is a point exactly...other than that the movie has butterflies in it and there is illusion and I want you to see it if you can. The connection to the photo is the butterfly, of course, and the fact that it almost looks 3-D to me, like a photographic illusion. That's all!
Ruth: I'll be eager to see YOUR butterfly! This one stood out for me because when you see it in its largest format, it DOES seem superimposed. Glad you saw it, too. I do think you and Don will like the movie.
Mr. Fab: So glad someone else I know has seen it :)
I really like this butterfly photo - good shot, good timing. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tim!
ReplyDeleteB is a huge Jessica Biel fan so I know he's going to want to see it when it gets over here.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't that familiar with her, Dixie, but I can guarantee that I'll never forget her now. She was great!
ReplyDeleteAwesome photo, Ginnie!
ReplyDeleteI love Ed Norton. Will try to see it.
Mad, you're gonna love it if you love Ed Norton!
ReplyDeletewow - that is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've yet to see one stop and fly and get some flower nectare all summer, just in a n aquarium.
Thanks, ET. I guess I was lucky :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gustav. That always means a lot coming from you.
